Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher are reportedly set for a “big divorce battle”.
The couple ended their six year marriage over 16 months ago, but Demi only filed her divorce papers last week.
The 50-year-old is reportedly seeking spousal support from the Two and a Half Men actor and with money being the source of their disagreements things could turn nasty.
“They are both out for as much as they can get,” a friend revealed to British magazine Grazia. “It’s likely to be a pretty big battle.”
It had been thought that the couple would settle their divorce privately. Ashton, who is now dating Mila Kunis, lodged papers to end the union in December 2012. Three months on and the fact he’s failed to reach a compromise with Demi indicates there may be a public hearing. Sources have stated that both parties are willing to air their dirty laundry if they feel it will benefit them.
“It seems Demi was tired of the negotiations going nowhere. They couldn’t agree on so many things. Up until now Demi, hasn’t really said anything about what happened, but there are rumours that in the divorce proceedings she could use information about Ashton linking him to other women,” an insider revealed.
“It is thought that, should things get difficult, Ashton may give details of Demi’s deteriorating behaviour and her wild partying.”
The pair split following claims Ashton was unfaithful and several months afterwards Demi checked into rehab for rumoured addiction issues and an eating disorder.
She has displayed erratic behaviour at celebrity parties since then and is said to be struggling to cope with Ashton’s new relationship.
“Apparently Demi still has Google alerts set up to tell her what’s going on with Mila and Ashton,” an insider revealed.
“She hates that she could end up funding their relationship,” a source explained.
