Nestle seeks scorched almonds ad girl

Missing: One blonde woman, thought to be in her mid-20s. Star of scorched almonds TV advertisement.

The little blonde girl who has graced our television screens at various times over the past 20 years wrapping individual Nestle Scorched Almonds for members of her family is sought, not only by interested viewers, but by the company, which wants to pay her talent fees.

The ad, for many, is a sure sign that Christmas is on the way. And scorched almonds have solved many a present-buying problem over the years.

Nestle New Zealand corporate services manager Maurice Gunnell said the company attempted to track down the woman last year without success.

If they could find her they would be able to pay her the talent fees for the past two years.

Gunnell said the advertisement was first made in the early 1990s by global agency JWT and it was a regular on our screens for a number of years before disappearing, then reappearing, last Christmas.

JWT managing director Simon Lendrum said the advertisement was probably shot on 35mm film but the only copy left is a digital recording.

There is no information about where or when the ad was made.
