Lorde shows her flaws in anti-Photoshop statement

Lorde has again shown she is not without flaws, while highlighting the fact pictures do lie.

She posted two pictures on Twitter from a weekend concert – one altered to hide her acne, and the other which had not been enhanced and revealed traces of acne.

“i find this curious – two photos from today, one edited so my skin is perfect and one real. remember flaws are ok :-)” Lorde tweeted.

Time interpreted the move as 17-year-old Lorde joining a celebrity debate over retouching photos.

It had been a controversial year for Photoshop, and it was no surprise Lorde had come down on the anti-Photoshop side, Time said.

“Lorde seems set on being a feminist role model for young girls-and that begins with an anti-Photoshopping stance.”

The pictures were taken at Chile’s Lollapalooza festival in Santiago on Sunday (local time). Lorde did not make it clear who had done the retouching work on one of them.

In February, Lorde uploaded a late night picture from Paris to Instagram. She had a messy bun, bare skin and acne cream. That picture was captioned: “in bed in paris with my acne cream on”.
