Specter tops GOP rival in 2010 matchup, poll says

A poll of Pennsylvania voters suggests that the newest Democrat in Congress, Sen. Arlen Specter, would easily beat his old rival, Republican Pat Toomey, in a Senate race next year. But the Quinnipiac University survey, released Monday, indicates that Specter would have a much tougher re-election fight on his hands if he faces off in 2010 against former Pennsylvania Gov.

CNN man begins bid to ‘tweet’ London Marathon

A CNN.com journalist has begun his bid to "tweet" the London Marathon — but admits he has no idea whether his plan will work. Pete Wilkinson, a digital news producer at CNN.com in London, plans to update his Twitter page during Sunday’s race via text messages from his cellphone but said that typing and running at the same time was “incredibly hard.” Wilkinson hopes to complete the iconic 42.1 kilometer (26.2 miles) race in four hours or less and said he planned to tweet without stopping

CNN staffer to ‘tweet’ during London Marathon

The race will be hard enough without the rain that’s in the forecast, but one participant in Sunday’s London Marathon is challenging himself further by planning to "tweet" while he runs. Albasini wins stage as Contador still leads

Swiss Michael Albasini continued Team Columbia’s impressive start to the cycling season with victory in stage four of the Tour of the Basque Country on Thursday. Columbia have already taken a host of big races this season, including Edvald Boasson Hagen’s win at Ghent-Wevelgem and Mark Cavendish’s numerous sprint victories, including in the Milan-San Remo classic. And that run continued when Albasini beat three rivals in a sprint finish at the end of the 161km ride from Eibar to Guenes.
