Report: Former S. Korean President Roh dead

Former South Korean President Roh Moo-hyun died apparently after falling while hiking, police said Saturday. The information came from the Geyong Nam Police Department, a provincial police agency, which said circumstances of the death — which occurred near where Roh was living — were not immediately clear. A hospital spokesman declined to comment.

Drew Peterson charged with murder, authorities say

Drew Peterson, the former police sergeant who authorities call the prime suspect in the disappearance of his fourth wife, Stacy Peterson, has been indicted on murder charges related to his third wife, the Illinois state attorney’s office said. Illinois state police said Peterson was taken into custody Thursday.

College student charged in slaying possibly linked to Craigslist

A 22-year-old college student in Boston, Massachusetts, has been charged with murder in connection with the death of a woman who may have been contacted through a Craigslist ad, police said. Philip Markoff, a pre-med student at Boston University with no criminal record, also was charged with the armed robbery and kidnapping of another victim, Police Commissioner Ed Davis announced Monday evening.
