Cooper ‘went commando to state dinner’

Bradley Cooper didn’t wear underwear while meeting President Barack Obama.

The actor was invited to the State Dinner at the White House on Feb 11.

And according to Cooper, he had to go without underwear because he had no room underneath his trousers.

“So I’m prepping for a new movie and I’m trying to gain weight fast, so I’ve gained about 15lbs in four weeks and nothing fits me anymore — like these pants barely fit me,” he told Ellen DeGeneres on her talk show. “So I wore the tuxedo I wore to the Golden Globes.”

Unfortunately for Cooper, he didn’t realise the suit no longer fit. When he tried it on again, it was clear he had no choice but to “go commando”.

“I just sort of threw it in the bag and brought it and went to Washington, D.C. Then I’m getting dressed like ten minutes before I was supposed to go, and literally the pants go up to like here,” he said, gesturing to the top of his thighs.

“I just started laughing, actually, [like], ‘this is hilarious, I’m going to meet the President.’ So I had to go commando number one ’cause there was no room at all. I did. I had to.”

Cooper attended the dinner with glamorous girlfriend, British model girlfriend Suki Waterhouse, 22, as his date. The 39-year-old joked about how he could barely greet people because his clothes were so uncomfortable.

“I couldn’t stand up really,” he revealed. “So it was really great. And you have to walk up the stairs, and it was a nightmare. But I made it through. They were crazy-town tight.”
