Angelina Jolie has revealed she has decided to remove her ovaries in addition to having a preventative double mastectomy. In a moving and powerful op-ed in The New York Times this week, the actress said she had the mastectomy in February after finding out she carried a gene that gave her an 87 per cent of getting breast cancer

Angelina Jolie has revealed that she recently underwent a preventative double mastectomy. The Hollywood actress, whose mother Marcheline Bertrand died of ovarian cancer in 2007, was tested to see whether she carried the ‘faulty’ gene, BRCA1, that increases her risk of developing breast cancer and ovarian cancer.
