Peter Jackson to join Walk of Fame

Oscar-winning director Sir Peter Jackson is getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Jackson has been announced as one of 30 stars of movies, television, music, radio and stage to be honoured with a star on Hollywood Boulevard.

The recipients were selected from among hundreds of nominees, and Chair of the Walk of Fame selection committee for 2014-2015 Maureen Schultz said the new selections represented the best of the entertainment industry.

“We look forward to welcoming all our new honorees to one of the most popular tourist attractions in California.”

The Walk of Fame comprises more than 2,500 stars embedded in the footpaths along 15 blocks of Hollywood Boulevard and three blocks of Vine Street in California.

Dates had not been scheduled for the star ceremonies, and recipients have five years before their invitations expire.
