Liverpool and Everton drawn in FA Cup

Liverpool captain Gerrard has a hectic schedule before the FA Cup fourth round tie at home to Everton.
Merseyside rivals Liverpool and Everton have been drawn together in the fourth round of the English FA Cup with the tie set for Anfield on the weekend of 24-25 January.

That clash will come just a few days after the bitter rivals meet on the same ground in a televised Premier League encounter on Monday 19 January. And it could be staged just hours after a scheduled 23 January court appearance by Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard who was charged with assault last week following an incident at a local nightclub. There is already the prospect of one of the fourth round ties taking place on that Friday night. Liverpool have already said that they will resist any change of fixture that will see them playing on the same day as Gerrard’s court outing. Sunday’s draw produced a possible League Cup final rehearsal with Manchester United confirming an Old Trafford tie against Tottenham by winning 3-0 at Southampton on Sunday. That means a Tottenham reunion for Bulgarian striker Dimitar Berbatov who left the north London club at the start of the season having helped them lift the League Cup at Wembley earlier in the year. Spurs face Burnley and United take on Derby over two legs in the semifinals of the League Cup in the weeks starting 5 and 19 January with the final at Wembley on Sunday 1 March.
