Kardashian and Humphries divorce final

Weeks before Kim Kardashian is set to give birth to her first child with Kanye West, a Los Angeles judge has finalised her divorce from NBA player Kris Humphries.

Court records show the couple’s divorce judgment was formally entered by Superior Court Judge Hank Goldberg on Monday.

The filing does not reveal any new details about the couple’s split. They reached a settlement in their long-running divorce case in April and signed the judgment in late May.

Humphries had been seeking an annulment of the couple’s marriage but agreed to a divorce before a trial on the matter. He claimed the couple’s lavish, televised wedding was based on fraud, but he never detailed his allegations in court.

It was previously reported that Humphries had softened on his annulment demands due to fear of wasting time and money should the case have gone to trial.

“Kris didn’t want [his basketball] team impacted by his personal life,” a source told Radar Online at the time of the settlement in April.

“If the Nets advanced in the playoffs, the trial would have taken place during the games and basketball comes first for Kris.

“He also realised that he didn’t have a chance in hell of proving that Kim defrauded him. In the end, his lawyers were able to finally make him recognise that not only would he be missing out on the playoffs with the Nets, but would likely be ordered to pay Kim’s legal fees.”

Kardashian filed for divorce in 2011 after the couple had been married 72 days.

Humphries is a power forward for the Brooklyn Nets.
