AC/DC drummer Phil Rudd in court

AC/DC drummer Phil Rudd has appeared in court this morning on a charge of lying about his previous drug convictions.

Rudd, the drummer for the veteran Australian hard rock band, who now lives in the Bay of Plenty, appeared in Tauranga District Court this morning on two charges.

He pleaded not guilty to a charge of making a misleading statement about drug convictions in an application for a medical statement under the Civil Aviation Act, but guilty to a second charge of failing to maintain an accurate pilot log book between August 3, 2012 and April 30, 2013, in that he didn’t keep a logbook at all.

Rudd is being represented by Paul Maybe QC.

The case revolves around whether Rudd knew his statement was knowingly or recklessly misleading.
