A South Carolina mother makes her son wear a “smoked pot, got caught” sign to teach him a lesson.
April Mathison took drastic step when the time outs stopped working. ‘I don’t think he believed me at first.’ Mathison was referring to her son’s punishment, she told her son to walk up and down a main intersection in the town of Beaufort this weekend, wearing a sign that read “Smoked pot, got caught! Don’t I look cool? Not!” and “Learn from me, don’t do drugs,” after the 13-year-old was busted with marijuana
The frustrated mother took this step because she didn’t believe grounding or other means of punishment would keep her teen away from drugs. Her punishment seems to be working, when interviewed the teen boy said he felt embarrassed and didn’t want to go through this ordeal again, citing also that passers-by would speak to him from their cars, chastising him for the offence.
He walked the intersection, under the careful supervision of his mother, for two days.
