Opposing groups protest outside abortion doctor’s clinic

A woman walked slowly toward the door of the abortion clinic when a nearby protester screamed, "Don’t kill your baby!" But the shouts on this day were drowned out by women’s rights groups who gathered at the Abortion & Contraception Clinic of Nebraska in Bellevue, just south of Omaha. “Welcome! Welcome! This clinic stays open,” abortion supporters chanted in unison, their voices rising every time anti-abortion activists tried to shout at patients arriving at the clinic.

Hurricane spares Bermuda; heads for New England

Hurricane Bill skipped Bermuda and set its sights on the Massachusetts coast Saturday morning, with forecasters warning people from New England to Newfoundland to be on alert. The storm is expected to pass off the coast of New England late Saturday or Saturday night and approach Nova Scotia on Sunday, the National Hurricane Center said.

Report: Children’s DNA used to ID terror suspect

Indonesian authorities are reportedly conducting DNA tests to determine if a man killed in an 18-hour raid last week is the country’s most wanted terror suspect, Noordin Top. Police have been hunting for Noordin for the past six years, accusing him involvement in the 2002 Bali nightclub bombing and attacks on the Marriott hotel in Jakarta in 2003 and Australian embassy in 2004. He is also the main suspect in last month’s twin hotel bombings in Jakarta which killed seven people and the two suspected bombers, and wounded more than 50.

One rescued after helicopter, plane collide over Hudson River

One person was rescued from the Hudson River on Saturday after a tour helicopter collided with a small plane, the Coast Guard said. A helicopter believed to have six people on board collided with a plane over the river between Lower Manhattan and Hoboken, New Jersey, New York Deputy Police Commissioner Paul Browne told CNN
