Selena still a Belieber

Selena Gomez is “doing all she can” to help Justin Bieber, claims her grandfather.

The 21-year-old singer’s relationship with the Canadian heartthrob has been on/off since they initially split at the end of 2012. Since then Bieber has experienced many brushes with the law, including being arrested for DUI and allegations he damaged his neighbour’s home in an egg attack.

It’s long been claimed that his management team want him to reunite with Gomez properly as they see her as a calming influence, something her grandfather Ricardo has confirmed.

“The agents say it is good for her to be next to him, keep him out of the bad habits,” he told British magazine Heat. “They say she has been a positive influence on him. She’s doing all she can to get him on track.”

Gomez checked into rehab for two weeks in January, after cancelling some tour dates. When her secret stint was revealed it was thought she’d sought help for exhaustion or emotional issues, with unconfirmed claims she was also finding her relationship with Bieber hard.

Ricardo Gomez has admitted his granddaughter found some aspects of Bieber’s life difficult to handle.

“There was some pressure because [her career] is a lot of work. Plus, she was worried about Justin. We saw in a newspaper that she was doing drugs, so I called her. She said, ‘No, you know better than that, Pap,'” he recalled.

“She was telling us that she didn’t want to be with him because of what he was doing, that he was getting into drugs and it was something she doesn’t like. They still go out. We worry, not just because of their relationship – we hate to see him in trouble.”
