Notoriously difficult celebs

When your stock in trade is enormous explosions and slow-motion action sequences, it must be quite a culture-shock to find yourself at the mercy of a malfunctioning autocue, but that’s precisely what happened to director Michael Bay this week at tradeshow CES in Vegas.

The Transformers maestro had a tantrum when his autocue packed up, he tried to soldier on, then forgot his train of thought and stormed off stage.

Bay is, it needn’t be added, rumoured to be something of a nightmare to work with: at least if you believe former Transformers franchise star Megan Fox, who described her former boss thusly: “He wants to be like Hitler on his sets, and he is. He has no social skills at all.” (Anonymous crewmembers from the Transformers set fired back via open letter that Fox herself was about ungracious a person as you can ever fathom.”)

The impossible-to-work-with celebrity is a trope that goes all the way back to 1952’s Singin’ In The Rain and beyond, but it’s one thing to write a film about a difficult director or actor; it’s quite another to show up to work with them every morning at 5am.

So, in celebration of those who “don’t do stairs” and want their own triple-decker trailer with organic air conditioning, here are ten notoriously (if allegedly) difficult celebs.
