Lorde scores four Grammy nods

Kiwi popstar Lorde has been nominated for four Grammy music awards.

The teen, whose real name is Ella Yelich-O’Connor, has been nominated for Song of the Year for her chart-topper Royals at the Grammy Nominations ceremony in Los Angeles.

The Auckland 17-year-old was also nominated for Record of the Year, alongside Daft Punk & Pharrell Williams, Radioactive, Bruno Mars and Robin Thicke, for Royals.

Other nominations included best pop vocal album, for her record Pure Heroine, and best pop solo performance for Royals.

Lorde missed out on a nod for the Best New Artist, to surprise.
