Lorde gets Muppet treatment

Lorde’s a Muppet now.

The Muppet Studio has given the Kiwi pop star a special honour by creating a Lorde Muppet.

The puppet is on auction on Trade Me, with all proceeds going to the Starship Foundation.

The doll has Lorde’s trademark wild dark mop of hair and black clothing, and, with the help of a gifted puppeteer, can do all her famous dance moves too.

The Lorde Muppet was created to celebrate the release of the latest Muppet movie, in which the two Kiwi Flight of the Conchords stars had a hand in making.

Bret McKenzie, who won an Oscar for the Man or Muppet song from the last Muppet movie, has been working as music supervisor, while Jemaine Clement played the Prison King in the movie.

*Muppets Most Wanted is screening now.
