Kate Winslet gives birth

Kate Winslet has reportedly given birth to her third child.

The 38-year-old actress and her third husband Ned Rocknroll welcomed a baby boy on Monday, The New York Post reports.

According to Page Six, the newborn weighed in at a healthy 9lbs after he was delivered at a London hospital. The name of the infant is unknown at this time.

Winslet has two children from her two former marriages, 12-year-old Mia from her marriage to Jim Threapleton, and Joe, nine, from her marriage to Sam Mendes.

After tying the knot in December of last year Winslet and Rocknroll reportedly set up their marital home in a lovely country cottage in England’s West Sussex county. They also share a house in the UK’s Cornwall region.

The Oscar-winning actress met Rocknroll, who is Richard Branson’s nephew, on the Virgin tycoon’s private tropical isle Necker Island in 2011. During the holiday Winslet rescued Branson’s 89-year-old mother Eve from a fire and it is rumoured their child’s name will memorialise the event in some way.

“Eve is one of the names Ned and Kate have thought of,” a source told British newspaper The Sun previously.

“They want it to mean something and it would be a great reminder of how they met – and keep a strong connection with Ned’s family.”

Winslet has previously spoken about her desire to keep her surname.

The star doesn’t think the last name ‘Rocknroll’ suits her very well.

“I was never going to change my name to Rocknroll. I’ve never changed my name to anything so I didn’t see a reason to start now,” she told British newspaper The Telegraph.

“I quite like Kate Winslet; in fact I think it’s very flashy. I’m proud of my name because I’m one of three girls and we have one boy in our family so essentially the only person who is going to carry the name along is my brother and he doesn’t have any children at the moment.”
