Justin Bieber brings in the crowds

New Zealand’s Beliebers turned up in their thousands for Justin Bieber’s concert in Auckland tonight.

They only hope their teen idol doesn’t turn up late to his one-night-only Vector Arena gig.

Bieber disappointed fans in Buenos Aires after quitting the stage for the second time during his South American tour earlier this month.

His fans, who paid up to NZ$388 for a ticket, booed him off stage.

“It would suck if that happened here,” said Auckland fan Olivia Harter, 15.

“His fans in Brazil or somewhere booed him. They’re not real fans. He was sick!”

Harter and her friends Jessica Haines, 14 and Crystal Chalmbati, 14, describe themselves as true Beliebers.

The trio queued for two hours and 20 minutes earlier today to meet Aussie teen crooner Cody Simpson, but if they had to pick a favourite, Bieber would “for sure” come out top because “Oh my God, he’s like so hot!”.

And they don’t care that the once baby-faced crooner has turned into an alleged marijuana-smoking shirtless rapper either.

“I think it’s good that he’s changed. We’ve grown up with him and he’s not the same 12-year-old he used to be. He’s growing up and can’t stay the same,” said Haines.

Bieber has been in the firing line for bad behaviour in the past year, including being caught on camera urinating in a restaurant mop bucket and then shouting “F**k Bill Clinton”.

He was also accused by a pilot of getting high before a flight in September.

But bad press doesn’t phase the Beliebers.

“We’re at his concert, aren’t we”
