In the comedy a chance encounter inside an New York City bar leads Knightley’s character Gretta to team up with washed-up music executive Dan, played by Mark Ruffalo, to record an album outside the confines of a studio.
Together, they traverse the the city, making music at a subway stop, under a bridge, on a row boat in Central Park and in an alley in Chinatown, among other NYC locations.
