Driver in Fatal Virginia Bus Crash Charged
— State police have charged the driver of a bus that overturned in Virginia, killing four people and injuring more than 50.
Spokeswoman Corinne Geller said Sky Express driver 37-year-old Kin Yiu Cheng is charged with reckless driving and is being held at an area jail on $3,000 bond. He suffered minor injuries in the Tuesday morning crash on northbound Interstate 95 about 30 miles north of Richmond.
The bus was headed from Greensboro, N.C., to New York City.
State police say four women were killed and 54 passengers were treated at hospitals for minor to life-threatening injuries.
Authorities say driver fatigue contributed to the crash. The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating.
Sky Express has been cited for numerous safety violations over the past two years.
