RIVER FALLS, Wis. – The 34-year-old father; Aaron Schaffhausen has been arrested after his three daughters; Amara, Sophie and Cea Schaffhausen were found dead at home in a Wisconsin town.
Authorities say the girls’ mother; Jessica Schaffhausen called River Falls police Tuesday afternoon and asked officers to check on her daughters because their father had called her and the conversation made her concerned for their safety.
When the officers searched the house they have found the bodies of the children, ages 5 to 11, at Aaron Schaffhausen’s River Falls home. City administrator Scot Simpson said Wednesday that the bodies haven’t been positively identified but the girls match the description of the couple’s three children.
Police said the house smelled of gas but it is uncertain that the gas has anything to do with their deaths.
The 34-year-old father later turned himself in to police.
The incident is still under investigation.
