‘Close to 50 people’ fired from Hercules set

And that’s why you don’t violate your contract. In an interview with CinemaBlend, Hercules star Dwayne Johnson reveals that dozens of people were fired from the set of the film for trying to sneak pictures.

“I would say maybe close to 50 people were fired – crew members – all trying to sneak pictures,” Johnson said. “There’s mandate, and we all agreed on that.”

Brett Ratner’s summer blockbuster is the source of much intrigue. Clem Bastow wrote on Wednesday that the film will be an important test of Johnson’s star material, having mostly played secondary characters and never bearing the weight of a film this large on his impressively sculpted shoulders before. Probably doesn’t bode well, then, that the trailer makes it look kind of terrible.

Fortunately for Johnson he was allowed to keep his paycheck despite sharing multiple photos during filming. “I told the studios…’Hey, what I’d like to do is take the audience and the fans on a journey from beginning to end, because it’s such a passion project for me. So from the time I get to Budapest, I’d like to take them on a journey in terms of what my diet is, what my training is and on set too’,” Johnson said.

“They said, ‘Well, how are you going to do that’ I said, ‘Well, trust me. Somehow I’m going to do it.'”

And to Johnson’s credit, his Instagram game is extremely on-point.
