Casting call for more Hobbit extras

More scenes are set to be filmed in Wellington for the final two instalments of The Hobbit trilogy.

Three Foot 7 has advertised for extras with ”character” faces to apply for roles in the film.

According to the advertisement on Trade Me, applicants need to be available between this month and August and live in Wellington.

A spokesman for director Sir Peter Jackson, Matt Dravitzki, said the extra shooting had always been scheduled.

”It is part of his process and these have been on our calendar since the very beginning of production.”

He confirmed the shooting would be at Stone Street Studios in Miramar.

He would not comment on what scenes were being filmed or if any big-name stars – who were in town for the bulk of the shooting – would return.
