One of Hollywood’s most talked-about couples are calling it off. Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are filing for divorce after five years of marriage.
“Katie has filed for divorce,” Cruise’s attorney says in a statement. “Tom is very sad about it and is concentrating on the kids.”
Holmes’ attorney said in a separate statement released to the press ” “This is a personal and private matter for Katie and her family. Katie’s primary concern remains, as it always has been, her daughter’s best interest.”
This was Holmes’ first marriage and No. 3 for Cruise. The actor was wed for 10 years to actress Nicole Kidman, with whom he has two children, and before that had said “I do” to actress Mimi Rogers.
