Tensions Flare In Courtney Stodden’s Reality TV Debut

Child bride, Courtney Stodden, made her reality TV debut last night. And… Of course there was controversy and tension.

Couples Therapy

Courtney Stodden made her reality TV debut last night on VH1’s “Couples Therapy” — and she immediately caused controversy.

The teen bride, who was 17 when they filmed the show, and her 52-year-old husband Doug Hutchison were the first couple introduced on the premiere episode.

Raising My Wife

“I call him ‘Dad’ instead of ‘Doug’ sometimes,” Stodden purred in her their package, with Doug creepily adding “See, this is the thing … I’m raising my wife!”

Taking A Toll on Other Relationships

And while he may have a very young, scantily clad wife, Doug admits it’s taken a toll on her relationships — both personal and professional.

“I got death threats … my agent dropped me, my manager said marrying Courtney was like taking a gun and shooting my career in the head,” he says.

Hutchison also explained how his brother and mother disowned him after he and Courtney got married.

Controversy quickly followed when costar Shayne Lamas (Pictured above) got a look at Stodden’s short skirt and revealing top, she couldn’t hold her tongue for long and eventually called Stodden out for dressing like trash.

And all this happened before the couple even entered the house.

Once there, they went on the defensive against Shayne Lamas and husband Nik Richie — who started a near-brawl with Doug by calling Stodden “trash” right to her face.
