Beaten Tiger says he needs to improve

Tiger Woods had to settle for fourth place as Sean O’Hair clung on for a one-shot victory in the $6.4 million Quail Hollow Championship in North Carolina. O’Hair finished with a three-under 69 to hold off fellow Americans Lucas Glover and Bubba Watson, with the world number one a further shot back after a frustrating level-par 72. Woods admitted afterwards that he is still looking to rediscover his best form after his comeback from knee surgery.

O’Hair leads Tiger by five at Bay Hill

Sean O’Hair will be paired with Tiger Woods in the final round of the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill, but holding a five-shot lead over the defending champion and world number one. O’Hair, who also played with Woods on the final day of the tournament last season, carded a one-over 71 in gusting winds to be seven-under overall after three rounds. Woods matched him to be two-under and in serious contention for the first time since his comeback from knee surgery

Tiger confirms return to action in Arizona

Tiger Woods will make his return to professional golf at next week’s WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship in Arizona. Woods, who has been sidelined since last June after knee surgery, is the defending champion and also won the event in 2003 and 2004. Woods has returned to the PGA Tour soon after the birth of his second child.

Charlie Axel Woods was born on Sunday, February 8, and is the second child for Woods and his wife Elin. He’s pictured here with his 20-month-old sister Sam their dogs Yogi and Taz, who is seen planting a well-timed lick on Tiger’s face. Woods had been waiting for the birth of his second child before making public any decision about a return to the Tour in 2009
