Product rumors have been fairly quiet on the Apple front recently, but the tech community has begun exchanging whispers about new Macs due in stores soon. New York Post not laughing at climate change spoof

A day before the United Nations held a climate change summit, New York City was blanketed with 100,000 fake copies of the New York Post tabloid, filled with content related to climate change. But the Post, owned by Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp., wasn’t impressed, calling the effort by perennial pranksters the Yes Men a “Witless Spoof in Flawless Format” in a statement released Tuesday, a day after the faux Post hit the streets.

Chef: Virus could have caused Fat Duck illnesses

The mystery illness that forced famed chef Heston Blumenthal to temporarily close his award-winning Fat Duck restaurant last month was possibly norovirus, a highly contagious stomach bug, Blumenthal said Thursday. After exhaustive tests of the restaurant in Berkshire, England, and of staff and customers, norovirus was the only potential cause that had been found, Blumenthal told Australia’s Hospitality magazine.

Bangladesh: 39 drown after boats collide

Eight more bodies floated to the surface Sunday, bringing the death toll to 39 from a riverboat accident in southern Bangladesh. Speaking at the civil rights group’s annual meeting in New York, NAACP President Benjamin Todd Jealous said that if Sean Delonas is not fired, the group will call for protests of the paper and Fox television affiliates, which are owned by Post parent company News Corp.
