Early photo of New York fetches $62,500
One of the earliest photographs in existence sold for $62,500 at Sotheby’s auction house in New York. The photo, which was estimated to bring in anywhere from $50,000 to $70,000, was sold to an unidentified buyer. The 5.5-by-4-inch, black and white daguerreotype shows a New York country estate
