A cup of tea That’s not exactly a rock ‘n’ roll scenario for the British post-punk industrial band who have influenced the likes of Nirvana, Pearl Jam and Metallica.

Review: Dr Who – The Bells of Saint John

Last night’s episode of Doctor Who, The Bells of Saint John, was always going to be about how Clara Oswald becomes the 11th Doctor’s new companion. Fans of the BBC show, which turns 50 in November, have known for a long time Clara, played by Jenna-Louise Coleman, would replace Amy Pond, played by Karen Gillan.

Court declares Franken the winner of Minnesota Senate race

Minnesota’s Supreme Court has dismissed former Sen. Norm Coleman’s challenge to the state’s November election results and declared Democratic challenger Al Franken the winner. The court’s unanimous, unsigned opinion declared that Franken “received the highest number of votes legally cast” and is entitled “to receive the certificate of election as United States senator from the state of Minnesota.” If the ruling brings an end to seven months of challenges by Coleman, Franken would become the 60th member of the Senate Democratic caucus, a move that gives the party a filibuster-proof majority in the chamber, at least on paper.

Slain woman’s family sues alleged killer

The mother and brother of a 31-year-old woman found strangled with her two young sons in the bedrooms of their home filed a wrongful death lawsuit Tuesday against the alleged killer — the husband and father of the victims. Christopher Coleman has pleaded not guilty in the triple homicide police say took place early in the morning on May 5 in the family home in the small southwestern Illinois city of Columbia.
