Vettel takes pole position in Japan

Sebastian Vettel will begin the Japanese Grand Prix in pole position after the Red Bull driver produced the fastest lap in an action-packed qualifying session which saw Formula One Championship leader Jenson Button penalized five places. Lorenzo claims pole for Catalunya MotoGP

Home favorite Jorge Lorenzo has pipped Fiat Yamaha team-mate Valentino Rossi to pole position for Sunday’s Catalunya MotoGP. The Spaniard produced a lap of one minute 41.974 seconds to edge out the Italian world champion by 0.013 seconds ahead of the race at the Montmelo circuit.
