Democrats fear superdelegates could overrule voters

Arrest made in death of Nazi concentration camp survivor

A Bronx woman has been charged with murder and robbery in the death of an 89-year-old Nazi concentration camp survivor, and police said a man is still being sought in connection with the death. Angela Murray, 30, was arrested Saturday, according to the Manhattan district attorney’s office, and is accused of strangling Guido Felix Brinkmann on Thursday in his Upper East Side apartment.

Two men convicted of torturing, killing French students

Two British men were convicted Thursday of torturing and killing two French students in London last June, London’s Metropolitan Police said. Nigel Farmer, 34, and Daniel “Dano” Sonnex, 23, were also found guilty of arson, false imprisonment and burglary. The bodies of Laurent Bonomo and Gabriel Ferez, both 23, were found in Bonomo’s burned apartment in southeast London last summer.

YSL auction of a lifetime set to fetch $380M

A three-day auction of art and furnishings that belonged to the late fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent is seeing sale prices far exceeding estimates, with dollar amounts almost as spectacular as the range of items being sold. A list of artwork already sold in the Monday-to-Wednesday auction in Paris shows pieces from Matisse to Brancusi fetching tens of millions of dollars, according to the Web site of Christie’s, the auction house that is holding the sale. The largest amount so far was €35,905,000 ($45,264,579), the price realized for French Impressionist Henri Matisse’s painting “Les coucous, tapis bleu et rose.” That was more than double Christie’s estimate of €12 to 18 million ($15,526,268 and $23,289,403)
