A hoax video purporting to show Michael Jackson hopping out of a coroner’s van alive was produced by a German television station as an experiment, the broadcaster told CNN Monday. It was made to show how easy it is to spread rumors online, said Heike Schultz, a spokeswoman for RTL, the leading private broadcaster in Germany.

Obama invites Mideast leaders for talks on ‘comprehensive peace’

President Obama is launching an effort "to achieve a comprehensive peace in the Middle East," his spokesman said Tuesday. Sub joining hunt for lost hero Amundsen’s plane

Norway’s navy announced on Monday that it will help search for the missing plane of 20th century explorer Roald Amundsen, more than 80 years after his death. Republicans, analysts question Obama’s foreclosure plan

Even before President Obama unveiled his home foreclosure plan Wednesday afternoon, some Republicans and political commentators questioned how exactly it would work to stave off a crisis plaguing the country.
