Keira Knightley marries rocker

Keira Knightley is married.

The 28-year-old actress and her musician partner James Righton tied the knot at the town hall in Mazan, which is 20 kilometres from Marseilles, France.

The pair are said to have cemented their love in front of 11 guests shortly before midday, with the ceremony said to have lasted around 30 minutes.

“It was not a long service,” a source told People. “Keira looked beautiful. She wore a very pretty, very elegant dress.”

The star is said to have wept as she and her new husband exchanged vows. She was seen skipping out of the town hall with James afterwards, with the pair using a Renault Clio to transport them to the reception.

Knightley chose a simple knee-length strapless gown for the occasion, which boasted a tulle skirt. She paired it with a cropped jacket by Chanel, following reports the fashion house’s creative director Karl Lagerfeld would be creating her wedding dress.

The star’s brunette locks were left loose and adorned with a headband of daises and she chose flat shoes.

“It was a very moving ceremony,” an insider told MailOnline. “Keira looked extremely moved by the whole thing – there were certainly tears of happiness.

“It was sunny day without a cloud in the sky. There were cheers of, ‘Well done, Keira,’ when she came out, but there were so few people present so they didn’t make much noise.

“It was amusing to see them being driven away in a battered old Renault Clio – it certainly looked as though it had seen better days.”
