Justin Bieber cleared in ‘hit and run’ case

Justin Bieber has been cleared of involvement in an alleged hit and run.

The 19-year-old singer and his rapper friend Lil Twist were trying to leave the Laugh Factory on Sunset Strip in Los Angeles last night when they were involved in an incident.

Justin was driving his white Ferrari and apparently gestured for a scrum of photographers to move out of the way.

It was claimed one of them was accidentally pinned between the singer’s vehicle and another car as he drove away, with the paparazzo taken to hospital apparently hurting his leg.

TMZ now claims the teenager has already spoken to police about incident.

“Justin Bieber is saying he didn’t know he hit anyone as he left the Laugh Factory, and police are clearing him of any wrongdoing,” reports the website.

Justin and his team were apparently quick to meet with police to discuss the incident. The star sat down with members of the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) and it soon became clear he didn’t realise anything untoward had happened before he drove away.

It is suggested that the paparazzo was at fault because he was in the road.

In January, photographer Chris Guerra was knocked over and killed as he tried to take a picture of Justin’s car.

Justin later released a statement in which he asked for tougher regulation of paparazzi.

“While I was not present nor directly involved with this tragic accident, my thoughts and prayers are with the family of the victim,” it read.

“Hopefully this tragedy will finally inspire meaningful legislation and whatever other necessary steps to protect the lives and safety of celebrities, police officers, innocent public bystanders, and the photographers themselves.”
