Jennifer Lopez: “I heard the maid story on Twitter”

Jennifer Lopez defended herself against rumors that she got a maid fired after the German hotel employee requested an autograph.

While staying at the luxury hotel Melia Duesseldorf while on her “Love” tour in Germany, Jennifer Lopez reportedly approached by hotel maid Pray Dodaj, who asked Ms. Lopez for an autograph, the German tabloid Bild reported. Dodaj, a huge fan of the Bronx-born singer, was turned away at Lopez’s door.

Pray claims she was relieved from her post the day after the incident with Lopez.

“I cleaned on her floor. And I am an incredibly big fan so I took all my courage and rang the bell to get an autograph. But I was rejected by two assistants at the door. A day later the cleaning company that employed me at the hotel called and said that Ms Lopez had complained. I was fired right there on the phone. Because of an autograph,” the maid said.

The hotel director, Cyrus Heydarian, insists it was right to fire Dodaj as the hotel does not tolerate employees who disturb his guests.

She has acted contrary to the contractual arrangements and disturbed the privacy of our guests.”

Lopez performed in the city recently as part of her current European tour.

Lopez said she first got to know about the story on Twitter.

“C’mon thought you knew me better than this.. Would never get anyone fired over an autograph. 1st I heard of this was on twitter. hurtful,” Lopez tweeted.

Lopez’s rep backed the “Dance Again” singer. “Jennifer always goes out of her way to meet and greet fans as evidenced by her recent tweet 2 meet engagements backstage, as well as stopping to sign autographs and say hello to hotel staff,” a rep told TMZ
