Firearm Advocates flaunt their guns to support rifle-totin’ teen

Pro – Firearm Advocates March to Show Their Support for Teen Who Thought it was Legal to Bring a Firearm into town, strapped to his back.

On April 13,  high school student  Sean M. Combs, walked through downtown Birmingham, Michigan, with an M-1 rifle strapped to his back. Apparently he thought he would be breaking no laws. He was arrested, though, and charged with brandishing a weapon, obstructing police, and disturbing the peace.

Local gun advocates, took up arms on Monday and marched while carrying guns into the city’s commission chambers in protest of the charges against the 18-year-old. They  argue that Combs has legal right, under open carry laws, to carry a firearm in public.

Police Chief Don Studt finally conceded that Combs was exercising his constitutional right, but noted he was also creating a disturbance.
