Family Guy’s shocking ad

The last time Family Guy lobbied for an Emmy award, it was accused of anti-Semitism.

In a mailshot sent out to Emmy voters, the makers of the irreverent comedy said: “Come on, you bloated, overprivileged Brentwood Jews. Let us into your little club.”

The joke, although typical of many in the show, didn’t go down at all well, with several trade magazines refusing to run it.

Many expected Seth MacFarlane and the rest of the team at Family Guy would be playing it safe with this year’s Emmy campaign for best comedy, but not so.

The team are courting controversy again, telling Emmy voters: “Here’s a load of comedy to shoot on your chest.”

The “For Your Consideration” ad spoofs the hit HBO show Girls, with Family Guy characters posing as stars characters from Lena Dunham’s acclaimed comedy.

The racy tagline is reference to an infamous episode of Girls in which one of the male characters ejaculates on the woman he’s dating.
