Wes Scatlin is Arrested After ‘fight over alcohol on flight, forcing plane into emergency landing’

Scantlin remains the only founding member of post-grunge rock band Puddle of Mudd, which had four U.S. number one hits in the early 2000s.

Puddle of Mudd singer Wes Scantlin, 40,  has been arrested at a Texas airport after allegedly allegedly ‘got into a verbal argument with a flight attendant over alcohol,’ leading his flight to be re-routed to Bergstrom International Airport in Austin for an emergency stop according to reports.

A source for the Austin police department told TMZ that it unclear what caused the argument, but an airport security source alleges Scantlin was ‘upset because the flight crew wouldn’t sell him booze.’

The police representative added that Scantlin was arrested and charged with public intoxication, but he could also later face federal charges of interfering with a flight crew.

‘The flight was diverted to Austin due to Wes Scantlin, lead singer of Puddle of Mudd,’ authorities told E! News ‘Once the plane landed the officers did their investigation and deemed that the individual was intoxicated and was placed under arrest for public intoxication.’

E! reports he was immediately transported to Travis County Jail, where he remains behind bars.
