Australia complete innings win over England

Australia completed a comprehensive victory over England in the fourth Ashes Test at Headingley, Leeds, winning by an innings and 80 runs inside three days to level the series at 1-1 with just the deciding Test match at The Oval still to play. Resuming the third morning in a seemingly impossible position, trailing by 261 runs on 82 for five after Australia’s first innings 445, England’s daunting task became all the more difficult when they lost two wickets inside the first hour.

Kutcher threatens to stop Twittering

Ashton Kutcher — Twitter’s top tweeter — warned he may pull the plug on his tweeting if the micro-blogging service partners on a reality TV show. “It’s all fun and games until somebody gets stalked,” Kutcher wrote in a Twitter posting late Monday.

U.S., Europe need to drop attitudes, Obama says

President Obama on Friday called on Europe and the United States to drop negative attitudes toward each other and said "unprecedented coordination" is needed to confront the global economic crisis. Speaking at a packed town hall meeting in Strasbourg on his first overseas trip as president, Obama said, “I’m confident that we can meet any challenge as long as we are together.” It’s easier to allow “resentments to fester” than “to forge true partnerships,” the president said. “So we must be honest with ourselves.
