Formula One reach agreement over 2010

Max Mosley, the president of motorsport’s governing body the Federation Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA), has said there "will be a unified Formula One championship in 2010." The statement comes after Mosley spoke to the FIA’s World Motor Sport Council and the Formula One Teams’ Association (FOTA), at the governing body’s headquarters in Paris. It seems FOTA, as the representitive of all eight teams that had threatened to set up a rival series, have settled their differences with the controversial racing boss. Mosley has reportedly confirmed a cost-cutting deal has been reached with those concerned which has ensured a deal for the next season.

Peace breaks out in F1 budget cap row

Formula One’s budget cap row looks over as Ferrari and other leading teams submitted conditional entries to the 2010 world championship on Friday. Ferrari had led opposition from the Formula One Team’s Association (FOTA) against proposals by motor sport’s governing body Federation Internationale de ”Automobile (FIA) over a proposed $60 million limit on spending by the teams. The deadline to sign up for the 2010 season was Friday and Ferrari joined McLaren, BMW Sauber, Toyota, Renault, Red Bull Racing, Toro Rosso and Brawn GP in confirming their entries

Ferrari seek court injunction over F1 rules

Ferrari have applied to a French court for an injunction against the proposed changes in Formula One, according to FIA president Max Mosley. Ferrari are among the teams who have threatened to withdraw from Formula One at the end of this season unless fundamental revisions are made to the new regulations
