Former Samsung chief handed suspended jail term

A South Korean court on Friday found the former chairman of the Samsung Group guilty of a breach of trust in illicit bond transactions and sentenced him to a suspended 3-year jail term and a fine of 110 billion Korean won ($89 million), South Korea’s Yonhap News Agency reported.

Shooting at Thai mosque kills 10, police say

Gunmen believed to be linked to an Islamic militant group opened fire Monday in a mosque in Thailand, killing 10 people, a police official said. Coach Ancelotti confirms Milan departure

AC Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti confirmed he will be leaving the Serie A giants after their 2-0 win over Fiorentina in the final match of the Italian season. Ancelotti, widely reported to be heading to Chelsea as a replacement for Guus Hiddink, will be replaced at the San Siro by former Brazilian international Leonardo. Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani confirmed his appointment after seeing the Rossoneri clinch an automatic qualifying spot for next season’s Champions League.

Inter secure fourth consecutive Scudetto

Inter Milan claimed their fourth successive Scudetto on Saturday night without kicking a ball, after AC Milan were beaten 2-1 by Udinese. The Rossoneri began the day seven points behind the Serie A leaders and needed at least a draw to keep alive their slims hopes of taking the trophy from their city rivals.
