Aerosmith announced the cancellation of the remainder of its summer tour Thursday, more than a week after the band’s lead singer tumbled off stage in South Dakota. “Due to injuries Steven Tyler sustained last week when he fell from the stage during a concert in Sturgis, South Dakota, doctors have advised the lead singer to take the time to properly recuperate from the accident that resulted in a broken shoulder and stitches to his head,” the band said in a statement. The accident happened August 5 during a concert at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in western South Dakota.
Beastie Boy Adam "MCA" Yauch is recovering from surgery to treat a tumor and gearing up for radiation treatments, according to an e-mail he sent to his fans. Yauch recently sent the e-mail with the subject line “What I did over my summer vacation” after having revealed in July that he had a cancerous tumor in a salivary gland. “So I’m about a week and a half out of surgery now and rapidly recovering from it,” the e-mail said

NASA will give the launch of the space shuttle Endeavour another try Monday, after having been repeatedly thwarted by the weather and technical malfunctions. Monday’s attempt is scheduled for 6:51 p.m. Weather forced the cancellation of launch attempts Saturday and Sunday.
