Police find drugs in Bieber home raid

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has raided the home of pop star Justin Bieber.

Officers executed a search warrant on Bieber’s home in LA’s plush Calabasas neighbourhood.

But in a footnote you could only read about in Hollywood, they actually went in looking for eggs and came out after they discovered drugs.

The search was ordered after an accusation from one of Bieber’s neighbours that the teen idol egged their home.

That incident occurred on January 9 and, according to media reports in the US, has caused $20,000 in damage.

Those costs include re-plastering the front of the house and re-staining the doors.

A media reports quotes the unnamed neighbour saying that he confronted Bieber after the egging but that the singer swore at him and continued to throw eggs.

A spokesman for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department confirmed the search warrant had been executed.

“We are executing a search warrant on Justin Bieber’s home this morning as part of our now felony vandalism investigation into the allegations that he egged a neighbour’s home,” he said.

The full search included 11 patrol cars and a battering ram.

According to reports Bieber was detained in his garage while the house was searched.

Police arrested a friend of the singer, 19-year-old rapper Lil Za, on a drug possession charge.

According to deputies at the scene, cocaine was “in plain view” during the raid.

A spokesman for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said Bieber “has not been arrested nor exonerated at this time.”

The spokesman said Bieber was “at the home at the time of the raid” and was “being cooperative with detectives”.
