PETA is Mad at Naomi

Supermodel Naomi Campbell made PETA angry with her plans of organizing an elephant polo match for her millionaire boyfriend.

Model Naomi Campbell’s plans of organizing an elephant polo match in Jodhpur to celebrate her billionaire boyfriend Vladimir Doronin’s 50th birthday, have not gone down well with People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).

The organisation has slammed Naomi for “sporting cruelty” and has spoken to Wildlife Department officials to not issue permission for the event.

“PETA India urges Naomi Campbell to respect elephants and Indian wildlife and immediately withdraw her plans to organise this cruel sport. It’s sad to appallingly predictable for her to exploit India’s national and natural treasure,” said Benazir Suraiya of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).

“It’s sad and predictable for this clueless woman to exploit India’s national treasure, the elephant, an animal with more dignity and intelligence than she can ever dream of,” says Benazir Suraiya of PETA.

“She is not using her fame and money for the betterment of animals. I have spoken to the chairman of Animal Welfare Board of India. Naomi will be receiving a legal notice shortly,” says Manilal Valliyate, PETA India’s director of veterinary affairs.

The couple is expected to reach Jodhpur this week with 80 celebrity friends for a lavish celebration

The couple, who have been dating since 2008, arrived in Jodhpur yesterday and will be having a pre birthday bash at the Mehrangarh Fort on November 6.
