Today Lorde finally saw a diamond in the flesh – when her father proposed to her mother.
Vic O’Connor popped the question to Sonja Yelich at the Niagara Falls today.
The proposal comes after almost 30 years together, Lorde told her Twitter followers this afternoon.

Lorde is currently on tour and recently performed in the United Kingdom to mixed reviews. Earlier this week she performed at the MuchMusic Video Awards and took home the trophy for International Video of the Year.
She is set to perform in Australia in a series of concerts after postponing a tour because of illness last year.
In May the 17-year-old took out two categories at the 2014 Billboard Music Awards after taking home two Grammys earlier this year.
