Kiwi kids sought for Sound of Music


Time to dust off the lederhosen and perfect your yodel – UK producers are on the hunt for Kiwi children to play the world’s favourite Austrian family.

Wellington and Auckland will be alive with the Sound of Music when the West End production comes to New Zealand from September.

This musical is produced by Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Really Useful Company and David Ian Productions, and is presented in New Zealand by Lunchbox Theatrical Productions and David Atkins Enterprises.

Next month auditions will be held in both cities to cast six youngest Von Trapps, and children are needed who can act, sing, dance and meet height requirements.

Producers are looking for 18 young actors and actresses in total to play the roles of the following Von Trapp children:
