Jennifer Lawrence won’t play the fame game

Jennifer Lawrence might be Hollywood’s golden girl, but she isn’t cashing in her ingots yet.

The actress has starred in films such as The Hunger Games and X-Men: First Class and scooped a best actress Oscar thanks to her role in Silver Linings Playbook at this year’s ceremony.

Despite making a name for herself in Hollywood, the 22-year-old hasn’t let the fame go to her head and enjoys a normal life.

“I still live in the same three-bedroom apartment I had when I moved to LA six years ago,” she revealed to German magazine TV Movie.

“I still look for bargains in the supermarket. When I go somewhere these days I let a valet park my car. That costs US$6!”

The beauty always looks gorgeous on the red carpet, opting for a cream-coloured Christian Dior Haute Couture gown when she attended the Oscars in February.

However, she’s not one for staying out late and celebrating her success.

“I act like an old woman; I’m in bed by 11pm at the latest. I prefer that to hanging around Hollywood parties at night,” she confessed.

Lawrence is popular due to her ability to laugh at herself and not take things too seriously.

Despite her little stumble at the Academy Awards and a wardrobe malfunction at the SAG Awards, she handled her embarrassment with grace.

The star is determined not to let her success change her.

“Fame or being famous has never impressed me,” she shrugged.

“Just because you’re getting recognised by other people doesn’t mean you’ve become anything special.”

The brunette beauty does lose her cool when she meets other A-listers though.

“When I met John Travolta the other day I was so excited, I almost fainted!” she grinned.
