Gossip: Brangelina rumours heating up

Kiwi broadcasters get broody, Brangelina makes headlines, and of course the Kardashians get a mention.

Tracker “Alpaca” Lush, 5 months, son of broadcaster Marcus Lush and partner Vanessa Underwood, is no Prince George, but he’s pretty cute.

Before you ask: Lush says Tracker is named after a Bluff oysterman, Eric “Tracker” Black. 74.

“Tracker is the father of my next-door neighbour and a good mate,” he told Women’s Weekly.

“Tracker is his nickname, so we have changed it up and given our Tracker the nickname Eric.”

The couple admits to being “outdoorsy”; Lush says they’ve already taken Tracker on his first tramp.

“His name’s Tracker, so hopefully he will be out on the tracks his whole life!”

The tyke was “unofficially” given the middle name “Alpaca”, after Underwood’s baby shower involved an alpaca-walking experience in Northland.

As the couple are so enjoying parenting, Lush says he wouldn’t rule out having more children. Plus, he’s already chosen a girl’s name: November Rain.

Women’s Day reports Breakfast host Alison Pugh is engaged to her partner of seven years, musician Jo Barus.

Apparently Pugh wore her “glittering engagement ring” on Breakfast on Monday, but took it off after viewers started asking questions. TVNZ said she was still adjusting to all the attention. A family friend told the magazine Barus has proposed to Pugh several times previously, but had been rejected. Perhaps his move to Auckland changed her mind.

Moving to bigger stars, Brangelina fills gossip mags pages this week for marriage rumours and makeup mishaps.

Women’s Weekly features a two-page spread of the couple’s appearance at Kensington Palace, for a celebration of Angelina Jolie’s new Disney film, Maleficent. The magazine describes Brad Pitt as her “Prince Charming”.

How original.

New Idea shows Jolie looking “dusty” at the premiere of the Normal Heart in Los Angeles, and labelled her the latest celebrity to suffer the “white-powder” effect. Apparently the powder her makeup artist used is designed for HD film and not flash photography, “a huge rookie error”.

However, it’s also invisible to the naked eye, so those present and Jolie herself would’ve been none the wiser.
Women’s Day speculates on whether the couple will soon marry, quoting a source who claims they could become husband and wife in “a matter of weeks”.

The source “close to Brad and Angelina” revealed the A-listers have chosen to elope with their family to a Caribbean island for a barefoot beach wedding.

Meanwhile, New Idea couldn’t go a week without a Kardashian wedding update: Apparently Kim Kardashian ahead of her marriage to Kanye West is petrified her stepfather will steal the spotlight on her big day.

The multimillion-dollar wedding could be an opportunity for Bruce Jenner to publicly confirm he is undergoing a gender transition.

A “top-level” Kardashian insider says the bride-to-be even considered not inviting him for fear he would turn up in a dress, but was reprimanded by mother Kris Kardashian.
