Geoff Robinson turns off mic

After 44 years, veteran Radio New Zealand host Geoff Robinson is today signing off the airwaves. The farewell caps a career during which he has reported on some of the major news events, including the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in New York, a multitude of elections, the Rainbow Warrior bombing in 1985, the Christchurch earthquakes, and the Aramoana massacre.

French satire Quai d’Orsay looks at the inner workings of the French foreign affairs ministry and there’s plenty to laugh about. When the door opens and actor Thierry Lhermitte walks into the hotel room I half expect him to be followed by a mini tornado of flying sheets of paper.

The Captain keeps his charm

REVIEW: Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) just wants to get the hang of modern living. Having been cryogenically frozen for nearly 70 years, he has missed the key cultural moments of the 20th century, so it’s both funny and rather sweet when he whips out his notebook to record “Marvin Gaye” in his list of must-learns (which inexplicably also includes “Tim Tams”).
